The other day at work someone asked me: “I saw you walking past the building on your lunch break, where were you going?” 

“To sit in that field over there and eat my lunch”, I said.

“Did you at least bring your laptop?!” He asked.

“No.”

“That’s so lonely!”

He proceeded to tell everyone else what I had done, as if it was some strange crime for which I should admit my guilt. I’ve learned to welcome these kinds of interactions as signs that I’m doing something right.
